Another superhero film, which seems to have become all the rave lately. Unfortunately, this one does not cut it like the last one I saw Batman Begins. The story is tepid, the acting is lack-lustre and worst of all it does not capture one of the greatest villains ever Dr Doom.
Unlike a number of superhero adaptations, Tim Story obviously does not care about his material and instead use it to create a bubblegum blockbuster for young MTVers who do not know Fantastic Four and so Story frontloads it with all the usual stuff of these films: flashy stunts, pretty actors, glib irony, tongue-in-cheek story and no substance to speak of. As such, the film remains moderately entertaining but not if one expects a Fantastic Four film, which I inevitably did having read many FF comics.
